01 / Starting point

Start With a Reference Sample or Clear Tech Pack

Fabrion prefers a physical reference sample because it gives the clearest guide to fit, shape and construction. We can also work from a tech pack or measurement chart, provided the design and construction details are clear and practical to follow.

Conflicting measurements or unclear construction details need to be resolved before pattern development starts. Otherwise, corrections to the pattern or sample can add time and cost.

02 / MATERIALS

Choosing the Right Fabric for Activewear

Fabrion recommends starting with a suitable in-stock fabric, particularly for startups and first orders. This can help keep minimum order quantities and sourcing costs down and shorten fabric lead times.

Custom fabric sourcing is generally more practical for established brands placing larger orders, as higher supplier minimums, additional costs and longer lead times may apply. Recycled, organic or certified fabrics can also be sourced, subject to availability, minimum order quantities and supporting documentation.

Whether stocked or specially sourced, the fabric must suit the product’s requirements for stretch, recovery, weight, breathability, moisture management or compression.

03 / Fit

Pattern Development, Fit and Sizing

Where a suitable existing pattern is available, Fabrion recommends adapting it to the required fit and design. This can reduce pattern setup costs, shorten development and simplify sampling.

If the design or fit requires a new pattern, we can develop one from scratch. Additional pattern-development and sampling charges apply, with costs and timing confirmed before work starts.

Once the base pattern and sample are approved, we grade the pattern to create the agreed size range.

PRIVATE-LABEL FINISHING

Branding, Labels and Packaging

We confirm colours and branding details as part of the product specification. Printing, embroidery and patch options depend on the fabric, artwork, placement, order quantity and intended use. Private neck labels, care labels, size labels and hangtags can also be added.

As standard, each item is folded and packed in an individual polybag. Size stickers, barcode labels and custom packaging can be added when required.

Custom labels, hangtags and packaging may have separate minimum order quantities, costs and lead times.

From Approved Sample to Bulk Production

Bulk production starts once the sample and order details are approved, the agreed materials are available and the production deposit has been received. Cutting, sewing and any printing or embroidery follow the approved measurements, artwork and production specifications.

The finished activewear is then packed according to the order requirements. Fabrion keeps the approved patterns and specifications on file to help maintain consistency across repeat orders.

PRODUCTION CHECKS

Quality Control at Four Stages

Fabrion checks each activewear order at four stages against the approved sample, specifications, artwork and agreed tolerances.

We set aside products with confirmed defects before packing. Customer-specific inspection, testing or reporting requirements must be agreed before quotation and production.

Before production starts, we check fabrics, colours, trims, artwork, measurements and production specifications.

Production Checks

We inspect cut panels, printing, embroidery, stitching, construction and measurements during production so issues can be corrected early.

Finished-product Checks

We check finished activewear for workmanship, measurements, colours, branding placement, labels and visible defects.

Pre-dispatch Checks

Before dispatch, we verify quantities, size breakdowns, finishing, packaging and shipping details against the confirmed order.

MOQ, Samples and Production Timing

Pieces per design and colour

Our standard minimum is 50 pieces per design and colour, divided across approved sizes. Custom fabrics or colours may require higher minimums, depending on supplier requirements.

Samples and development costs are paid in advance. Sample development commonly takes approximately 15 days after the design, material and development details are confirmed.

Days for bulk production

Bulk production typically takes around 15 days after sample approval, receipt of the production deposit and confirmation of all order details, provided the approved materials are available.

These minimums and timing estimates apply to standard orders using an approved production setup and readily available fabrics and colours. Custom patterns, special sourcing, colour development and sample revisions require more time. Order volume and production capacity can also affect timing. These are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates. Shipping time is additional.

Shipping Options and Documents

Fabrion ships within Thailand and internationally by courier, air freight or sea freight. The choice depends on the destination, order quantity, carton size and weight, budget and delivery deadline.

Shipping is quoted separately unless included in your product quotation. We can prepare standard commercial invoices, packing lists and shipping information for the agreed arrangements.

Customs and Delivery Timing

International customers are responsible for import duties, taxes, customs clearance and destination-country requirements unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Delivery estimates cover shipping after production and final packing are complete. Carrier or customs delays after dispatch may affect arrival dates and are outside Fabrion’s direct control.

Fabrion works with startups and emerging brands ready to develop a defined activewear product. You do not need an elaborate tech pack, but the design, fit and construction details must be clear enough for us to quote and prepare a sample.

For your first order, we recommend using a suitable pattern we regularly use for customer orders and a fabric we already have in stock. This helps keep development costs and lead times manageable while allowing you to review the fit, fabric and branding on a sample before committing to bulk production.

1What is the difference between an activewear manufacturer and an activewear supplier?

An activewear manufacturer makes the clothing. A supplier may manufacture it or resell products made by another company. Fabrion manufactures custom activewear at its Bangkok factory and does not supply ready-made wholesale stock.

2How much does custom activewear manufacturing cost?

3What is the difference between custom activewear and private-label or OEM activewear?

Custom activewear is made to your agreed specifications, such as fit, fabric and design. Private-label activewear carries your brand, while OEM manufacturing produces clothing to your design and specifications. These terms can overlap: a custom order can also be a private-label or OEM activewear order.

4Is activewear manufacturing the same as gymwear manufacturing?

Activewear covers clothing for many types of exercise, while gymwear manufacturing focuses on clothing for gym and fitness training. The categories overlap, and many products suit both.
